Hang in there. Make sure you find a child psych. that deals in ADHD and can
properly test him. Read up about ADHD as much as you can and see if you
can start some reward/behavior charts at home and at school. Does the
school have any ideas that can help your ds? I am sure that they have many
kids with the same issues. You all need to be on the same page. I would
also try a good bedtime routine, reduce sugar, etc. This will help some.

My ds is ADHD/anxiety and is 6 1/2. He is in Kindergarten. We went
through alot of screaming as well. You're right, it doesn't work and makes
the stress level high in the house. Once you get a handle on what it is you
are dealing with, it will get better.MY NAME IS YESENIA RIVERA, MY SON IS 6 YEARS OLD ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO I JUST HAD A MEETING WITH MY SON TEACHER, SOCIAL WORKER,PRINCIPAL. PSYCOLOGIST OF THE SCHOOL THEY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT MY SON BEHAVIOR AT SCHOOL I BEEN DEALING WITH THIS SINCE HE WAS IN KINDERGARDEN ALL THE TIME HIS TEACHER WOULD SAY YOUR SON DID THIS AND THAT. SO HE PASS TO 1ST GRADE SO KNOW THE TEACHER HAD TO CALL A MEETING TO TALK ABOUT IT THEY THINK HE HAS ADHD, WHICH NOW I THINK HE DOES HAS IT CAUSE ALL THE INFORMATION I HAD FOUND AND READ ABOUT IT SO I HAVE A DOCTOR TO SEE HIM AND EVALUATE HIM. AT FIRST I WAS SCARE AND STILL IS I MEAN THE BEHAVIOR IS THERE HE CAN'T KEEP STILL AT SCHOOL OR HOME DON'T FOLLOW THE RULES HE IS VERY HYPERACTIVE AND DOESN'T FOLLOW DIRECTION IN SCHOOL THE ONLY TIME HE CALM IS WHEN PLAYING NINTENDO, OR WATCHING A GOOD MOVIE. MY HUSBAND AND I USE TO SCREAM A LOT TO HIM AND WE JUST READ THAT IS NOT GOOD TO YELL OR SCREAM AT THEM. MY HUSBAND ALSO TOLD ME HE USED TO BE LIKE MY SON WHEN LITTLE I FIRST I WAS IN DENYAL ABOUT IT BUT AFTER I READ AND GOT INFORMATION ABOUT IT IM DEFINATELY GOING TO BRING HIM TO SEE A DOCTOR.Good luck in getting a diagnosis. Just don't let the doctor say, maybe it's ADHD, let's give him meds to see if it helps. A good doctor will rule out medical causes for the behavior first, before diagnosing ADHD. There are things like hearing problems, eyesight problems, that have to be also assessed.Good advise cr12345mr.  I just want to wish you luck on this difficult journey and know that we are here to help, even if it is just to have a shoulder to cry on.By the way ADHD is hereditary so your spouse may have it and as an adult it does not always go away.  Good luck.
