Thank you all!
The Nasonex doesn't seem to be working but we are slathering on the Desitin and the welts seem to look less raised and sore. I just wish that Shire could develop a good adhesive that did not cause the skin problems and did not stick to the backing when we are trying to put on the patch!
We have used Destin, Cortisone cream, and lotion. I am seeing small results but the poor boy is only 6 and 42 pounds. There's not a lot of area to apply the patch. Also, with the Desitin, it creates a film on his skin that is hard to get off and we had a problem with his patch falling off yesterday.
We LOVE the Daytrana patch. It has really been a Godsend to our DS.
I really thought, hmm, DS has no allergies and never had any allergic reactions so he won't have the same unfortunate bumps, welts, and rash areas like the others...Well he now has the raised red areas and he says he is a bit itchy too.
I was wondering if anyone had any success with any lotions, etc for the sensitive skin areas where the patches were. We really do not want to discontinue this med and I am hoping that we can find a way to ease the skin irritations
Any ideas?
Some have used diaper ointment, cortizone cream and nasonex (yeah the spray for allergies) with success. The nasonex was actually used before puting the patch on. I would try the cortizone cream first then move to nasonex (you will need a prescription for this).
