What stimulant doesnt cause irritability | ADHD Information
I haven't tried that as I have only been on Adderall. What about Strattera? Maybe that is better since it's not a stimulant. Unfortunately, I think all of the stimulants can have that effect. As vickie says, you just need to test drive them all to see which one agrees with you the best...everybody differs...there is concerta, focalin xr, ritalin LA....these all to some degree are time release and long lasting.Daytrana does not cause irritability in my dd so far.I'm on Strattera, haven't been on any Stimulant meds (yet) Strattera for me has been a roller coaster of feelings these first 2 weeks. I'm 'hoping' it's starting to level out some now. I've always been very irritable and short tempered and Strattera has helped calm that down quite a bit. I still tend to yell.. but I'm only on week 2 and only been on the 60mg from 40mg for 3 days now and my body has to adjust to it. However, PMS time is here right now and it certainly does NOT help the irritability that I get during that time. If you're not prone to being irritable then I would think Strattera wouldn't cause it in you. But like many on these boards have said.... every meds reacts differently to each one of us.
Strattera can cause mood swings, that's a side effect of it.... but like I said for me, so far it's calming my irritability down (on normal days).
I have been on Adderall XR and Adderall. They are making me extremely irritable when I used to be such a happy go lucky person. Is there a stimulant out there that doesn't cause one to be irritable?Unfortunately, you need to try out different meds until you find the right fit for you. Have you tried focalin?
