I take Adderall (very infrequently). The other day I was on it and exercised- specifically, I was rowing (inside not outside). After about a minute my entire back cramped up and tightened. This is very unusual and would never have happened if not on the Adderall.
I am just speculating, but my theory is that Adderall constricts blood flow throughout the body. Whereas normally, the muscles in my back would have been getting plenty of blood flow (and therefore energy), with the Adderall in me they cramped up.
I am now reluctant to exercise vigorously with Adderall in my system. Perhaps this is an explanation for your reaction to running in the rain?
Hi
I have just been formally diagnosed with add but known for a while. I had been taking dex amphetamine for one week and was doing really well my 3 yr. old told me i was a nicer mummy now!! I was taking 7.5mg at 8.30 then 5mg at 12 and then another 5mg at 4.30
I was calmer than ever and really optimistic about my life. and today one week later it happened.
Last week my doctor told me my pulse was high so I was worried but my psych was not. Then today I skipped lunch and then got stuck in the rain so I ran. My heart was pounding and then I felt a strong pulse in my neck and started to worry I may be having a heart attack. I realised then that it must be a panic attack as I had no actual pain. Then it felt like I was going crazy. I still femel shaky now as it was soo awful.
How can the medicine that calms me cause a painc attack? could it be because I had low blood sugar? Can low blood sugar cause a panic attack? is my dose too High? Do I have an anxiety prolem I had not even noticed?
Has this ever happened to anyone else it is not on my list of sympto me.
my computer just did something weird but i had not finished.
I am so dissapointed! Has anyone else had this. How did it get resolved with your medication? were you able to take the amphetamines with some thing else? Please give me some advice as I am devestated.
can the meds cause low blood sugar?
I had not heard of the panic attacks being a side effect, but I have heard several posts that say that the med works best when they eat regularly....
How are you feeling today? Better I hope. Have you called your doctors about the episode? I think that you should at least let them know that it happened...
