morning, Just thought I would add my little bit, oh before i do, ye are the best in the world, never ever think ye are less, my boy aged 14 and half( cant find my half thingy) going on 15 has adhd and odd, i had to pin him to the stairs the other day, and we get little or no help with drugs, which in a way is a blessing, but as the other hand says, it could be handy.....but it happens. So i know what ye felt and how it spoils your day, I see everybody offers advice on drugs but I can only offer ye this,here in ireland in my county we have a saying, ' no one said it would be easy', and its as true as the rain........dont give in, dont question what kind of parent ye are, stand firm stand strong, then nip out and buy yourself a small gift for all the hard work ye have put in, done and will be doing,

from john, a male housekeeper, parent etc etc etc.
i just wanted to thank all of you. after having the morning from hell (i had to physically remove my son from my car at school today...oh joy), i was so angry and frustrated and am still on the verge of tears. but since finding this board, i don't feel like the only one in the world dealing with this. my son has his first appt. with an ODD specialist next week and i am so hoping that it helps. my patience is nearly gone and i'm starting to get that hopeless feeling....not to mention feeling like a crappy mother because i have lost patience. on another note...did anyone happen to see super nanny the other day...with the adhd kid? personally, i thought it was a crock...i've tried all those nice little techniques to no avail. maybe super nanny should just move in with me...ha. thanks again, you guys...it's nice to know i'm not alone Yes definitely ask the doctor about the tenex (guanfacine), it is quite helpful for defiance, impulsiveness, anger, aggression, etc.....

sorry you are having such a hard time with your ds...some of the moms here have found that tenex is helpful for some of the behaviors associated with ADHD/ODD.  My son does not take this med but if his behavior get obnoxious I will ask my doc if we could give it a try....BTW supernanny had NO techniques ( other than praise his hw)..I felt like the old Wendys commercial   Where’s the BEEF
