Hi,
I am new to Adderall and would love a little advice from anyone. I take a very low dose only 5mg. I am sensitive though and eat very healthy and do a lot of yoga, no sugar or caffeine or any other drugs so it works for me. I love the effects of being organized and motivated. When I take the Adderall it really helps me focus, get things done, and I feel I have the energy to do it. Without it, it's more of a struggle and I can definitely spend too many hours on the couch waiting for a bit of motivation. My problem is though, if I take it consistently it makes me very IRRITABLE.
The feelings of impatience and irritability towards people especially at the end of the day as it wears off are too much. I love everything else about the drug though, and I would love to be able to take it if I could figure out the irritability factor. I am open to remedys(preferably something natural, but I am open)Any help or thoughts or suggestions would be so appreciated.
My 7 year old was taking 5mg of the XR Adderall for a month and had to be taken off of it. He was having serious behavior issues in evening after coming off of it....threatening himself and others. We are now scheduled to meet with Pshychiatrist to try and find something that will help him focus without having these serious side affects. In your case, trust your instinct. If you think that you may get to the point where your bad moods in the evening are going to cause you to hurt yourself or someone else...talk to your Dr. Not everyone can take this drug...and there are other meds that can help with the focus issue without the bad side affects.
Thanks for the info. You said other drugs can help with the focus thing without the side effects. What were you referring to. Good luck with your child. I personally am going to give up on Adderall because the mood change when it wears off is too much. Normally I am pretty easy goingSounds like you need a low dosage xanax in the evening to help with the irritability. You are taking Adderall xr?Time released? ShaneI'm on adderall xr and it works great for me...irritability isn't a problem and it works longer than quick release, which is nice.
