To answer your question on how long my son is the program, I sort of got on a roll and will post that in a new thread up top.
My son has been in the program for about 3 months now. It is a results-based program, not a set time. Some kids work harder and graduate sooner and other are resistant and they can be there for some time. It was not easy to decide on this type of program. However, as much as I fight for my child’s rights with the public school system for accommodations, they are simply not able to provide him with what he needs to even come close to reaching his potential. Our children are brilliant! For a while I resigned to settling for my son to just get a diploma. Although he scored very high on testing (as do many ADHD kids) in the past, and once had straight A’s, I lowered my standards and hopes and dreams for my only child because I was exhausted and didn’t know what else I could do. I found inspiration in a couple of songs.
