Does anyone's ADHD child get very upset with themselves when they can't figure out something or when they get in trouble? My daughter will say that she hates herself when she does something wrong. Maybe the marble system will also help this behavior....???? This just really bothers me when she says this and am at a lost when she does this because it just tears at me.
The one thing that galvanized me into action with regards starting play therapy for my son is that he spoke of self-injuring when he was frustrated or in trouble. He really felt a desire to hurt himself to feel better. That frightened me!!!
So I do understand how it hurts you to hear your daughter say she hates herself. It really is so hard on our poor children. They just don't deserve all this disorder wroughts on them!
