just another observation | ADHD Information

since my dd started meds for ADHD, she has been much nicer to her cat.  before meds she would *bother* the cat and the cat would hiss and hiss at her.  they sort of had a love/hate relationship before meds.  now, i'm pleased to say that the cat seems to want to be around her more:)  she just seems in more control of herself all the way around, it's truly wonderful to notice some of these great improvements!

has anyone else experienced this?

My NON ADHDer bothers our cat to no end....he will torment him until the cat swats at his hand...and since the cat is declawed in the front, he calls this the cat "giving me five".....

The cat sleeps with Chase(my ADHDer) every night, though I suspect it is because Chase's feet don't reach the end of the bed and leave more room for the cat to stretch out.

The reason for your daughter's change in attitude may be that she is able to control her impulses more easily now...and refrain from bothering the cat now...the cat senses that and is more comfortable around her.

I am happy for her animals are good therapy.  My poor girl cannot have a furry pet due to being allergic to fur and dander. My younger daughter has always been good to the animals. It is her sister that took all the impulsive stuff that my youngest did "because it is fun". She does better (not perfect) now that meds are working.
