Daytrana & swimming | ADHD Information

Hi there, my dd has been using the Daytrana patch since December with good results.  With Spring Break approaching she is going to be wearing her patch and invariably wants to go swimming or on a water ride at a theme park we plan to visit.  Her patch stays on pretty well all day except in the tub we notice it does come off easily.  So, we are going to try a waterproof bandaid over it but she has to keep it on because it does stick to the patch.

Has anyone else tried this?  I wrote Shire asking for suggestions and they couldn't recommend putting anything over the patch because they didn't know if it would reduce the efficacy of it.  *sigh*  Our dr. thinks it will stay on if she goes swimming since one of his patients sat in a hot tub with one on and it stayed on, but I am doubtful based on our current experiences.  She is very active and it is usually peeling off at night when it's time for it to come off (but we leave it on her a very long time - about 13 hours on average).

Any info. is welcome!

We don't use meds during breaks or vacations, but DD swims year round at home and hers stays on just fine. It is after school in the evenings, but we still have to pull it off.

I would not put anything over it,could increase the irritation.
