is caffeine absolutely prohibited if you are taking a stimulant, or do you just have to limit how much you consume? is it dangerous to have caffeine in your system with a stimulant?I'd just like to take this quick moment to thank you, vickie, for answering my constant questions on this board.

I eventually want to enter the health/medical field, so your advice inspires me to do the same for others in the future.

and thanks everyone else as well!

anyone else have any stim/caffeine experiences to offer? I was just concerned it might be risky or dangerous.soberxinsanity39157.5419675926It would be risky for my SIL. She has a heart murmur (that she did not know about) and was hospitalized last year when taking a diet pill that she did not know had ephedra in it. Talk to your doc about mixing your stims.Talk to the doc about your specific conditions. If you have side effects, anxiety or heart issues, caffeine could make things worse. Some people use it for the time when the meds are leaving the body or to augment meds in extra challenging times. It is as individual as the person.Caffeine doesn't help me focus, it just makes my mind more hyperactive, I just don't want to eliminate it from my diet completely. Gotta have that Starbucks!

My husband takes dexedrine and LIVES on diet mountain dew.....doesn't seem to bother him to have both in his system at once....though I do think he is drinking less now than he used to before meds.
