How do you do that exactly, do you have to call the ins. company and tell them you are in finacial need? My son is on Focalin XR and its a month also. Its only once a month but it usually kills me in the long run. Hes also on reular Focalin 5mg when need after school, for some reason the copay is .50...kinda wierd number but oh well!I too do the three month mail in option.  Most assistance programs are for those with no insurance, unless you can get medicaid because of the disability, but I believe this is financially based.  For controlled substances I am able to get a three month supply right at the pharmacy for one copay.

fig8wife....if you have medical insurance, try calling them about getting a three month supply through the mail (or a participating pharmacy near you).  I just did this and the amount for my co-pay was the same () but it covered a three month supply, not just one month.  So I saved 60 bucks.   it's worth checking out all the alternatives....

I have the same problem with daytrana 126 a month help someone on top of the 140 physic bill a month our health coverage doesnt cover mental and the uhc only covers 20 dollars of the medsThere are patient assistance programs, but you need to be uninsured to use them....I know nothing about an IEP covering it...have you checked on wrightslaw.com?

Hi my name is Teresa and my daughter alexa has adhd she is now on focalin xr and the cost of the medication with my insurance company covering a portion is like totally expensive I was wondering if anyone knows if her IEP (Individualized Education Program) should cover it I thought that someone told me that but I cant find anything online telling me that. Thank you!

Teresa

Go to www.pparx.org.  It is a patient assistance help place.

My son is on Adderall XR and a buch of other stuff.  We have insurance but all his meds. add up.  We applied for help with all his meds. but we only qualified for the Adderall assistance.  The doctor had to write a letter telling them that we needed the help.  His Adderall only costs us now instead of .  (I would be free if he didn't have to take it twice a day).

Hope this helps.
