My Concerta Is Waining | ADHD Information

Share
I started using Concerta at 18 mg and it was doing wonders.  Two weeks later I see the medication was waining.  I told my family doctor and she increased to 27 mg.

Today, I have a hard time keeping eye contact, I procastinate profusely and at times I am concentrating so heavily into one job then I jump into another and I still keep myself isolated from others except my family.

The only positive outcome of this medication is the controlling bursts of anger.

I heard from another doctor that Strattera worked for him.

I want to become normal again when the medication did work for me 100%.

My fellow forum members I would like to hear your input please.

Regards,

REAM

Ream, what you have described is exactly what is going on with me, except I take Adderall XR 20mg.  I am getting the same effects.  I have been on the medication now for about 25 days. I think it is just not the right medication for me.  I am going to call my Doctor on Monday and she of she can try me on Ritilan.  I'll let you know how that goes.  Let me know you decide to do as well.

I started 27 mg. concerta yesterday and I'm not noticing anything at all. I felt a little like I was caffeinated at the beginning of today and yesterday, but that kinda fades and it may just be psychological. I hear from the more "experienced" people on this board that once your body adjusts to the starting dose, it will cease to have an effect on you and you have to up the dose in increments (sp?) until you find the dose that will continue to have the right effect on you. Ream, the doses you mentioned are still pretty low doses...have you spoken with your doc? I posted yesterday because, I too, was concerned the med may not be working for me, but it may be the dose rather than the med itself. At least you noticed an effect from the 18mg

Good luck!
