I just click the wrong button and erased my entire post. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, you peaked my curiosity and had to search the internet. The study of spiders is called ARACHNOLOY with the person being an ARACHNOLOGIST.
I am not an arachnologist or even an entomologist. I have this facination with spiderman. That whole superhero thing and noone knowing his secret. Kind of like having ADD (the secret part, not the superhero).
Although in superhero fashion, I do tend to move at 100mph which got me "dinged" at work on my eval. I diagreed with something/someone and let them know in a public setting (instead of waitng and talking to them privately). Did I mention that this someone was my supervisor. Oops!
While were on the subject of 100mph, is anybody else annoyed by, say, everbody that walks in front of them, because they move too slow? And automatic doors? I walked into one at work, knocking off it's track, because it didn't open fast enough.
My Doc. did mention that stimulents have the opposite effect on ADDers. I also don't think that ABC should popularize the taking of someone elses (or even condoning-good word just came to me) meds.
I'm having Deja-vu. Didn't I already type this.

[/QUOTE] Hey thats me with the doors!!!!Dang things are tooooo slow.I love ADHD people and its great to "meet" so many here that have the same things going on.I'm a carpenter and at the end of the day my co workers shake their heads and say"Man where do you get all of that energy, I'm dead beat" he he I just laugh and say"Im ADHD" gotta go Places to go and people to see!!!zooooommmmmDoes anybody watch the ABC show Desperate Housewives? Well, I caught an episode the other day and one of the families has twin boys that were very unruly. Running around, jumping on things, etc. Well I wondered to myself if the writers had decided to "give" them ADD (wouldn't it be nice if life was a script and we could "take away" ADD??)
I researched this dilema on the ABC website and found a message board that confirmed that the teacher asked the mother to have her children tested. The mother has also decided to not medicate them (I presume they were tested).
Here is a link to the message board. I had to register and post a reply because it was one of those things I needed to vent about.

I saw that too and assumed that they were supposed to be ADHD and that she decided she (and they) were just going to cope with it without meds. They never stated that they had ADHD but it was really implied. She decided not to medicate them but they ended the episode with the mother having a drink and saying that the chose to self-medicate.Last night's Desperate Housewives had the mother of the twins taking ADD meds so that she could get more done. Another mother who was an over-achiever, suggested that ADD meds works as a stimulant for those who do not have ADD. It disturbed me that a show would suggest that mothers should take their children's meds as a type of speed or performance enhancer. But I must admit, I did the same thing this morning. The difference is, I believe I have ADD, I just haven't been diagnosed yet. I'll let you all know if I get more done today! Shouldn't be hard since I have been extremely unproductive lately.
Did anyone see last night's show?
I saw that episode last night and was majorly disturbed by it!
It's hard enough for us adults to get the meds we need without the TV popularizing abuse!!! I think we should all let ABC know about it!

Hi Schwep,
Not to change the subject (okay, so I have ADD), but what is with the spider avatar? Its really kinda creepy. Are you an entomologist? I know entomologists study insects, but do they study spiders (since I thnk they are not technically insects but arachnids)? Entomologist is the only term I could think of and I did not want to sound dumb by asking if you study "bugs".
Just curious.
