Beware Calcium propionate | ADHD Information

I did find the cheese at the store. Was disapointed at the small block of cheese you get for 5$! This is not worth the extra $ to me. Unless you can replace the cheese? I bought a brick twice the size for 4$! I grated it all my self. Decided to get the cheep parm cheese from  dollar store just for the container. We already are spending around four hundred $ a month on food.  Which is more than we were. We shopped Aldies alot. Now I can only get half of the groceries there. Eating healthy is exspensive!! I really miss wish bone salad dressing:( I have not found a good Italian dressing with out corn surup!  I tried a few and they were no where close!

KEn's is a good salad dressing w/out corn syrup.  I like the balsamic vinagrette.

For us, it's anything with corn -- startch, syrup, etc. (the syrup form is the worst for us though).  I can literally watch him "wind up" after eating something with HFCS in it!

Feingold is worth the money (IMO).  They do a lot of research and keep you in the loop!

Good luck with your continued changes.

Well, I think we'll be purchasing the Feingold information package.  We are seeing some real progress by eliminating corn and dairy.  Last weekend, I ordered a pizza from a place that we eat at often.  The next day, DS was going berserk - hitting, yelling, destroying stuff.  I got curious about it and started calling around.  I had to get to the wholesale distributor before I got any answers.  It turns out that the THIN crust pizza, which I ordered for the first time this weekend, contains calcium propionate (a perservative), which none of the other crusts do!  We've always been very careful about food dyes, but now I'm going on a crusade against preservatives.

Also, I didn't think we were using anything with high fructose corn syrup in it.  Then I read the ingredients of our 100% whole grain bread - bingo!  Since I've changed breads, that drunken, silly hyperness has not made an apperance.

For those of you avoiding HFCS - is it mostly that or any corn product?  I'm finding out that regular corn syrup and corn starch are in EVERYTHING!  I actually made homemade marshmallows today so my kids could have some at our neighborhood cookout tonight - and I had to modify the recipe for that!
