The addition of tenex to Chase's stimulant has helped him socially tremendously. I can't say how it works alone, because up to this point, he hasn't taken it alone except for a couple weekends here and there.
Before the tenex (guanfacine), Chase just could not handle the bus ride home in the afternoon. The kids were too loud, they 'picked' on him, etc....once the guanfacine was on board, he has no trouble talking and socializing with the children each afternoon, and gets off the bus in a good mood as opposed to in frustrated tears before the tenex. Recess is another time that used to stress him, each day he would come home with a story of an altercation with some child or another...now he comes home and relates who he played with and what game they were playing....not which kid he is mad at....
It has been great for Chase in the social department...
For anybody who has a child on tenex, how does tenex effect your child's behavior in terms of social interactions? Socially how does tenex compare to having your child on a stimulant?
