You don't need to wait until she is 7...you need to get a new doc if that is what they told you.

Check out the alternative board for help without meds...omega 3's and magnesium seem to be the most popular.

Have you tried a behavior modification plan? That is where you give incentives for good behaviors. You pick one or two problem behaviors to work on, then give her short-term rewards for when she does the desired behavior (such as a sticker on a chart). Then when she gets X amount of stickers for good behaviors, she gets to do a super special activity with you.

You may also want to read some books on ADHD for more pointers on behavior modification. Check out your library because they usually have a large selection. Good Luck!Yup, lots of info on the Alternatives board -- specifically look at the Omegas and Magnesium threads.Have you spoken to a Psychiatrist?I have a 6 year old daughter who I think has a mild case of ADHD, but all the doctors I have been to tell me that She is too young to be tested for it and that I'd have to wait until she was 7. Mind you I have had her to doctors about this problem since she was 4. They just tell me that she is an active child. But now that she is in year 2 things are getting worse. She is disruptive in class, can not concerntrate on work, has mood swings and some days it's like talking to a brick wall. I don't want to put her on pills yet until I try other products first. If anyone has any ideas or products please let me know. I have come to a dead end. samd39164.1656134259
