I was told that if his meds weren't helping make the day successful then you need to look at the dosage OR the medication. You have been doing this for 3 days now. You are obviously not having successful days, YET.
I would call the prescribing doctor ASAP and tell him/her what is happening. I don't know if it is the doseage OR the medication!
Hang in there and Keep trying. You will get it right!
Concerta works for my son, along with guanfacine.
Adderall HATED my son, it made him psychotic.
Everyone's chemical make up is different so their med will be different.
Here is a hug for you!!

We are dealing with our first increase in meds dosage, and I'm wondering how long the adjustment takes? We've been doing for three days now. He's unfocussed, moody the next morning, "feels weird" at school, and his teacher is concerned. How long do I give it before I pull the plug? I know that it can take several days (my head know this, my heart is in my throat) but DANG! Anyone familiar with Focalin increases? We've gone from 10 to 15 mgs.
(I know this should probably be on the meds board, but I specifically wanted parent opinions. Thanks!)
I wish I could help. I do not know the answer, I just wanted you to know my thoughts are with you through this.

We went through quite a few meds increases with Focalin - started on 5 upped to 7.5, then 10, then 15...each time, right before the increase we would see that his impulsiveness was back, the day we increased the dosage he would be great again. It seemed to last about 3-4 weeks before he would need an increased dosage. We switched from Focalin because 15 was not enough and 20 was too much.
The thing we found was immediate results from the increase...like on day 1. I would definitely call the dr.
