DS8 uses his fingers for math. how did you transition your child from that method to a memorization or logic method?
i don't know...but my 9 year old dd still does this to some extent. i've heard it's common among this age-both adhd and non adhd kids, so i've tried not to worry about it. having said that, my daughter did well on her report card as a whole this quarter...but did poor on math minute tests, she can't do math facts fast in a minute/when timed.

shelley - thanks.I'm 30 diagnosed ADHD at 15. I still count on my fingers.My ds is almost 12 and ADHD and he is still using his fingers.
