focalin... please help!!! | ADHD Information

Please give a little more info on the doses and what time the meds are given and what time the upsets occur. My kids are on focalin and the doc warned me that he sees more rebound with focalin while the body adjusts. We see it some afternoons but not often (this may be because of the guanfacine helping out).our doc just changed our daughter from adderall xr(AM) and adderall(PM) to focalin in am and ritalin in pm as she was having tantrums, mood swings, screaming fits and insomnia. any input would be greatly appriciated as this is very new to us!

focalin is supposed to be 'gentler' to children and is often given to them when they have had trouble with side effects on other meds.

I hope y'all have it figured out by now... but just in case you're still looking for into, I can tell you that Focalin was a MIRACLE for me. Nothing else ever worked so well. It literally gave me my brain back. As far as how it works for kids, though... I honestly don't know what the differences might be. I will tell you that what finally made all the difference for avoiding rebounds was taking it twice a day, not once, and my doctor told me that it's not uncommon to do that. Anise39192.8619791667
