Antidepressant help for child | ADHD Information

If you can't tell if the med is working or not, it may be the wrong dose or the wrong med. You should be able to tell that it is working. Given that she is acting angry, it could be a med side-effect. That happened with my dd on Concerta. After we switched from Concerta to Ritalin LA, her happy personality came back, although not immediately. Being 12 is not the happiest of ages anyway. Good Luck!Grand-daughter is going on 12 and is on Metadate CD for the last year (we really can't tell if it's helping or not); however, she is a very angry child and over the last year her nasty mouth has gotten worse.  Seems you can't please her unless you are yessing her to death and even then, she has the nastiest attitude.  Dr. is thinking of possibly trying her on a anti-depressant such as Zoloft or Lexapro.  Are these safe for someone her age.  I remember reading someplace that one of the common drugs used was not safe for children.  Any feedback?  Thanks so much.
