May not apply but I work for a chiropractor who does balloon adjustments in the nose and it helps with the seizures, a lot!!!! I have seen the difference in the kids and the moms that come in with them. Just something I have seen, not tried. I cried when I had to help hold a little boy down during the procedure but he has been able to get off  of seizure meds since. Just something to check out.

I would get a second opinion.  Our son takes Depakote for his little seisures.  Ritilan didn't work for him.

Son just started on Ritalin recently and I just read that people who have
Epilepsy should not be on it. Its a contradiction. But both Ped and Neuro did
not say anything. But I read on this board where someone was takeing med
and they had been seizure free and then seizures. We have been 2 1/2 years
with out seizures and I never want to go back but Ritalin is helping him so
much I dont know what to do and I live in fear once again that seizures wil
return. Anyone have and advice or been through this or know of someone
who has? ask the docs about the prescription for bipolar, i have it and its exactly the same medication as they prescribe for epilepsy.

It is important to discuss this with the doc. There may be reasons that the doc does not think the risk of recurring seizures is that high, or the doc is missing something. You should be able to discuss all of this and what you should be watching for.

Thanks we have an appointment on April 11 again to discuss things. I dont
care what we have to do I never want seizures ever again that is what started
all of this. He has been doing so well on the ritalin he did things like sit and
build and do puzzles this week it was totally awesome. He was able to
interect with other peers at a birthday party. it was so good to see. a nice
rayof light you can say.
