pda for DS7 who has adhd | ADHD Information
I haven't heard of that but I think teacher won't be to happy if she finds out that there are game on it. Maybe if he just uses it at home, but I think simple daily homework chart that the child writes himself and e mailing teacher is best. The teachers don't appreciate all the tech toys, they are so distracting for a teacher with 20 or more kids. I'd say no personally, or just leave it at home.I think that the one from sharp with no games or radio would work fine without teachers getting upset. I say if it motivates them to actually keep track of assignments, it is worth a try. Maybe run it by the teacher, or get it put on his 504 or IEP that he is allowed to use one...I agree with chasesmom... as long as it is not used as a game or distracts from instruction I would think the school would be alright with it as long as you ask to have it in a 504 or IEP whichever may apply. The teacher could easily monitor this in my opinion.
anyone?
actually, my son is 8 years old!!!
good points - thanks.
is there a PDA that's good for kids? DS7 uses his assignment book at school and brings it home and it keeps him (and us) organized.
in DS7's latest scholastic books order form, he was expressing an interest in a PDA-like gizmo that sells for . it has a calendar, address book, 2 games, an FM radio & calculator. i forgot which brand it is.
Sharp also makes one for about with 1GB memory. it doesn't have a radio or games. DS7 has been saving his $ for an iPod, but i don't think he's ready for that just yet.
