What other kind of test could there be? | ADHD Information

What kind of doctor is it?  I took my son to a neuropsychologist to evaluate for ADHD.  They do a lot of tests, including IQ and can determine any underlying or co-morbid conditions, like learning disabilities anxiety and depression.  DS's testing  took all day, although they may not have to do as many for an adult.  I don''t know.

There is one test for attention where they have you in front of a computer and you have to hit a certain button every time you see a blip move across the screen.  Dull by anyone's standards.  My son scored so low on this that he doesn't have an official score.  It was a fraction of a percent.

I've had an interview and filled out a questionaire for my original psychiatrist.  He then referred me to a colleague for what I thought was a totally different kind of testing only he pretty much did the same thing....with a slightly different approach.  Both came to the same conclusion.......I do have ADD.  However, my follow up with the original shrink was supposed to be after TWO referral appointments, one with the guy I did see and another with another colleague of his who I never heard from and therefore, didn't see.   My shrink then contacted him again and now I do have an appointment with him in a few weeks.  Orginally, I had a vague idea of what the appointment would be like which was why I was a little confused when doctor #2 basically did another history and interview.  When I asked my shrink just what kind of additional "neuro testing" I was getting, pretty much all I got from it was that it would take approx 1 hour and it was to see if there were any other areas of "disability" (can't quite recall the terminology he used but I was pretty sure he meant that I was definitely ADD but he wanted to see if there was anything else) that I had.

A few months ago I sort of got the feeling that the testing would be one where they would measure or evaluate my concentration or responses...........?

The short of it is........does anybody on here have a clue as to what type of test this sounds like?  I'm bored  right now and I really am curious as to what I'm going to be doing.  A few months ago I was under the impression that this further "neuro" (I did hear that term a few times) testing would further confirm whether or not I had ADD but when I was last seen by my shrink I did come out and ask what it would this would be for and, again, he led me to believe it wasn't to confirm the ADD but to see if there was more to it.  I am at the point where I guess it's a done deal and that I don't have to wonder if I'm ADD or not......the second doctor actually answered that very question when I asked and said yes, I do have it so I'm just wondering what kind of a test this is.  I know I'm not bipolar.  I'm not clinically depressed at all.   I really don't think I have OCD either.  What else could they be looking for?
