Also if you take antacids (anything that affects stomach pH).Adderall's absorption is adversely affected by high fat meals taken right before or after the medication and by fruit juices (orange juice in particular).  If your meal consists of these things, then that is probably not a good time to take your meds.You do not have to take it with food.  They do recomend that you take it with water, a full glass.  I usually take mine 1 to 2 hours after I eat and it works well.  I too have found it inconsistant when I take it with food, like maybe its blocking it from quick dispersal.How do YOU take it?  I take it with food, but I get inconsistent results.  Some days seems to work better than others.
