Can someone explain rebound effect to me? My son's psychiatrist took my son off Adderral and put him on the Daytrana patch because he said it would help with the rebound effect.
Any input would be most appreciated.

lsubanks39181.8646180556Thanks so much, that is exactly what my son has been doing. The patch seems to help when it stays on. It seems to come off alot and it when it does he is hell on wheels...like today it came off early and he was out of control this afternoon and tonight. He goes back to the doctor Thursday and I plan to ask him more questions about rebound. Again, thanks so much for your help.Rebound effect (much simplified version) is when the medicine wears off and the child feels out of control....and often exhibits behaviors that are worse than he/she usually has when unmedicated.....the med causes behavioral issues as it is leaving the body.
