Zoloft-experiences please.. | ADHD Information

My almost 12 yr old son just started Zoloft...Dr said to start at 12.5mg and work up to 25mg.  He also takes 54mg of Concerta, 1MG of Tenex in the am and 2mg of Clonidine in the evening.  The Zoloft is for the Anxiety...which is terrible.  We tried Celexa and Paxil CR..neither of which helped much.  The DR feels Zoloft is going to be better...it's only be 2 days....I will let you know.  I am curious on other experiences with Zoloft      My experience with Zoloft was good, allthough at the time I was taking it I was not being treated for ADHD but bipolar depression.  However, while I was on Zoloft I was also taking two other meds.  One of these meds was specificaly intended for anxiety, that was Zanix.  While it is habbit forming I had no problem weaning off of it.  When I began treatment for ADHD the doc started me on several different meds...Provigil/Wellbutrin- [both with bad results because I was a head injury survivor and they advise not to use these drugs if you had head injury] and ended up on Adderallxr.  The doc also re-issued Zanix for the anxiety which I used for aprox 3 months until my system addapted to the stimulant med Adderallxr.  I then weaned off the Zanix and have been relatively stable for 5+ years.  But I can't say enough about the success I had with Zanix.       k_r44I had great results with Zoloft for anxiety.  Every one is different, though, and keep in mind that it will take a couple of weeks before you can really see results.I really liked zoloft for anxiety many years ago. It took care of things for me in about 6 days. Weaning off at the end was a piece of cake. My n=1 experience.

My 14 year old has been on zoloft for 6 years.  It has been excellent.  There have been times when we tried other meds for anxiety, but nothing has come close to this.  Without it he becomes very tense and axious about everything!!!

He is on 25 mg at present and also takes ritalin and concerta 54mg.
