Ritalin and Heart Pounding | ADHD Information

Ask your dr. about Strattera.  It's non-stimulant.  I have rapid heart beat and my doc prescribes Strattera for me.  My heart rate is fine on it.  Find out if you doc thinks will work for you. 

Hey everyone,
So I have had ADD since I was a child, but am just trying medication now at
22. My doctor prescribed me 10 mg of Ritalin....i know this isnt a high dose,
but my heart was pounding and I felt like it was going to pop out of my
chest. SHe told me not to take it any more and she was going to see what
else she could try. Has anyone had a similar experence or have a medicatiom
choice they prefer?My daughter had really hard heart pounding on 10mg of Metadate CD. She's 5 1/2, but it really doesn't matter your age if your body doesn't handle it that well. We lowered it down to short acting Ritalin 5mgs and she's fine. I don't think she could handle the longer activating ones.
