How have you made out on this combo? We are in a little med balance struggle right now. My daughter has been taking Zoloft and Ritlain LA for a few months. I think her anxiety has increased. We just added Clonidine. For her I dont think she can handle the Zoloft and Ritalin combo. Hoping to keep the clondine, well swaitch to Guanfacine and maybe drop the stimulant for a while if she can be focused at school.
My son is 10 and takes dexedrine for ADHD and has been on 1.5 mg. of guanfacine for behavior. Saw the doc and talked about possible anxiety issues. Has anyone had their child on a stimulant, guanfacine, AND zoloft at the same time?I think that I have seen that combo, though we have never used it.
I know that when I first approached the ped about Chase's anxiety, frustration, tearfullness over his social problems on the bus and the playground, she wondered if he would need another med for the anxiety. She did not want to start more than one new med at a time, so she wanted to wait until we saw how effective the guanfacine was before adding anything else. In our case, the guanfacine totally took care of Chase's issues, though he is on 3 mg....1 in the morning and 2 in the evening.
