Whats going on here? | ADHD Information
My newly diagnosed with ADHD 6 year old son has been on the 10 mg Daytrana patch for 7 day now. His short temper and outbursts have been better; although he still has them at times. Now though he seems like he is very hard on himself. Before he just shrugged it off, now he just gets very frusterated. I homeschool him and I have not has many problems getting him involved in school before the medication, but in the past week, he just says that he doesn't want to do school. When we actually do school, he is focused, but still hard on himself when he can't remember something or gets something wrong.
Does it sound like his medication need to go up, or does he need to change medications. I'm definately going to the doctor's to get his advice, I just wanted to talk to others that have gone through this so I have more information for myself.
Thank you for your input!
Michelle
He may be becoming self aware for the first time. This part is good as it can help him be an active participant in his treatment. It may be that the med is not quite enough for the full challenge of learning and he is aware when he is having trouble now.
