I only have 25 years to speak of... and more than 20 years was spent undiagnosed... My adventures (or mis-adventures) probably couldn't benefit anyone... but, they would be good for a laugh or two and maybe a few tears, as well.
I've often joked about writing a book about me, the "Peter Principle" and "Murphy's Law." But, to be quite honest, my ADHD isn't as tamed as I would like it to be and writing a book seems like a daunting task that could never be completed!
Maybe the Chicken Soup for the Soul editors would be willing to compile a Chicken Soup for the ADHD Soul edition. I think all of us could benefit from that sort of comfort and relativity.
Best wishes to you. I'd like to read your story when it's finished. If you decide not to go through a publishing company, then please post it on a personal homepage and let us know when we can read it!
I think that it would be inspirational, and probably fun to read. Good Luck with that!
yep, agree with that. Also, since this website is international, if you get it printed it won't be available everywhere, at least not straight away. There is way too much to learn about AD(H)D, and there are probably loads of us out there and it won't be less in the future. It took me almost 30 years just to get the idea what i might have, and I'm still not sure whether it's ADD or something else, or what was there first. I was diagnosed with Depression and GAD last year, and I read Elizabeth Wurtzel's "Prozac Nation" - I can only recommend that. i felt so relieved to find out why I felt what I felt and that I'm not alone, it was really comforting. So, a book about AD(H)D, especially for/about Adults, would be a good step forwards!
Well done, I'm glad to see you can reach the age of 70 despite a chaotic life, and still have great plans and learn new things everyday. Good luck!!
