Those in college, hiding your medication? | ADHD Information

I was just curious if anyone here does anything to hide the fact that they are using adhd medication, especially for those of you living on campus in college.  I know these drugs are popular amongst non-adhd'ers, but it pretty easy to spot when you see someone with a adderall prescription container sitting at your desk.

Does anyone do anything to hide their medication usage?

Hey there! Well, I don't live in the dorm anymore....but really almost no one knows I'm on them. I am taking Straterra now...which isn't really a "happening" drug on campuses...but I used to be on Ritalin..and yea, I never mentioned that. BAsically because a lot of people ( who don't understand) think it's a 'cop out'. So I just keep it to myself because a) it's no one else business and b) I know it helps me.

I would also think that if others knew, you just might get your meds stolen for abuse, and be out of them until the next month.....?  This is something to think about when our children begin to reach college age.....oh goody, another thing to stress about....

Also, peer pressure.  Kids (non-adhd'ers) want adhd meds to help them study.  so the only place they can go is to kids who have them.

Although, I've known some kids who have a prescription for adhd meds, and only use them occasionally.  Sometimes they'll sell the rest for profit because they can get a new refill every month.

But I guess if you really do have adhd, then you really need to use them every day in school.

hey, I understand this completely... I was in a fraternity! Really, what you need to do.. first don't tell anyone that you take any meds, except for your most trusted trusted friend(s).

Even then, Hide your med, either a safe (brinks personal safes are relatively inexpensive) or ive found it's good to hide them in a different spot from time to time.

I dont hide a thing, and no one asks.
