straterra in the summer | ADHD Information

Is there a reason you would like a break? Also with stratera there is a longer period to get it back in the sysem to be ready for school. I would look at all the reasons you want a break and all the reasons to stay on it and discuss the pros and cons with the doc.

I believe Stratterra is supposed to be taken all the time.  I was on it for a while and my doc said that I was supposed to slowly decrease the dose when I stopped, just like when I started.  It also takes several weeks to see results on it, so if you weaned off for several weeks at the begining of summer, then back on for several weeks at the end of summer he would only be off it for a couple of weeks in the middle.  Probably not worth the hassle, and you would have to deal with the side effects all over again when you started it back up.  Is there a reason you want to stop since you said it's working well?

Has anyone taken their child off of straterra for the summer months?? It is working really well for us but I was just wondering if this is a drug that can be stopped for the summer months.
