Is Anyone Currently Taking Focalin XR? | ADHD Information

My son is 5 and has been on 5mg of Focalin XR since he was three.  He has become a different child. We call it the miracle drug

We just finished our first full week on it after switiching off Adderal because of agression issues.

7.5 and she is doing well.  Some new behaviors, but they arent awful just different.

Just wondering if anyone has exprienced Focalin XR for ADHD? Cause it's working great with my two daughters and I only know one friend of mine who's son takes it. Was wondering how the results from other parents are.

My 1st is on Focalin XR 15mg And Clonidine .01 half tablet @ night.

My 2nd is on Focalin XR 5mg and Clonidine .01 half tablet @ night.

My son's on it- it's been working great!  The reason his doc suggested it was because she had a patient who was on ritalin, with not so great results, request to try it.  She saw such drastic improvements in this child that she switched a couple others who weren't having much success on ritalin (she likes to try ritalin 1st cause it's been around so long and typically works well for people) and they also had good results.  So when we came waltzing in complaining that the ritalin had stopped working she gave us focalin xr.

Although, I have to say, we saw absolutely no results at 10mg, but at 20mg he's a different child- in that good, mommy's not banging her head against the wall way.

we use 5 mg and a diet combined and my son is doing quite well...we have never had to change his meds or dosage...it worked from the beginningsorry to be the down side, my son was on it and was taken off after three weeks due to increased aggression, it turned him into a totally diffrent child but not in the good way you all have hadmy daughter developed tics, but it was not the XRMy oldest is on 20mg, and the youngest is on 15mg with 4mg guanfacine a day. Both are doing wonderful on it. They both did well on concerta, but the oldest had too much trouble swallowing the pills, and the youngest did not gain weight for months (she started out too skinny to have room for weight issues).

My son was taking it and did well.  He did great at 15 mg for about a month, then like overnight the impulsiveness was back - we upped it to 20 mg and he became a little zombie boy who couldn't smile or laugh if his life depended on it.

So, we switched to something different.
