Hi, I'm new to the forum and need some advise or suggestions, I have a wonderful 9 year old son, who was diagnosed with ADHD 3 yrs ago. He is currenlty on Adderall XR 25mg. There are days he is fine but on most he's talking back, whiney about everything. It's affecting his behavior at school. His class work doesn't get completed unless his teacher is right next to him. His teacher called me today and said that she thinks he should get some counseling. We have a re-evalution tomorrow with his Dr. I'm just hoping she can make some suggestions. Any Advise???thanks..stressed out in Texas
Welcome Renee. There is a reason why there are many different meds for ADHD. It seems that Adderall is not the one for you son. I definately would get a good Family Therapist for your son & try a different med. The Therapist will role play & help your son with his self esteem, socialization & learning coping skills. Good luck.
