Guanfacine question | ADHD Information

My daughter has been taking Clonidine and now Guanfacine for a couple of weeks. Guanfacine working much better. She takes 1/2 mg at 6:00 am then another 1/2 sometime after school. School is seeing that between 1:00 and 2:00 most days she is either sleepy or "restless". He did say with the Guanfacine as opposed to the Clonidine we could go to three times a day. Do you think that is what it is? I am not really sure if I should wait it out a bit longer or start calling him.The guanfacine can cause sleepiness that usually goes away after the child's body has adapted to the med (should have done so by now). Also, although the 1/2 life is 12-18 hours, the effective time for ADHD symptoms is more like 6-8 hours. Since the doc has given you the OK to go 3x a day, I would try a late morning dose (this weekend when you can observe her). If that does not help, call the doc for more instructions.thanks Vickie.
