New to Board | ADHD Information

Hi,

I'm new to this board (although often post on e-communities).  My 7 year old daughter has just started on Ritalin LA.  We are seeing very good results.  She also takes depakote for a seizure disorder which is very well controlled.  I'll come back on at some point and post more but my quick question is what is an effective and safe allergy med?  She has seasonal allergies for which we've tried several things previously -- rynatan (spelling) a prescription med that made her climb the walls, claritin which disrupted her sleep cycle big time . . . . we do benedryl but it only lasts 4 to 6 hours and I haven't tried it yet in the morning with her Ritalin.  Need to call her ped tomorrow but wondered what some of your experiences were.  Thanks.

Martha

Be careful with over the counter allergy meds using Ritalin. We've been told NO decongestants with Ritalin. Benadryl is obviously ok. Sorry, but we have the same problem. The pharmacist may  be able to help. Although mine said Benadryl.

And welcome!
