Ds and I were on the bus yesterday. He had an appointment. Ds was talking maybe a bit too loud to our friend who was sitting across from us. One of the little old ladies beside me said "Jesus". I ignored her. She later said to my son"be quiet. You talk too much." This was just befoire we were getting off. I told my son later that people don't understand mental difficulties since they can't see them. Boy I was livid! These old people should be happy to hear children's chatter. I probably would have had to ask her just when she became the social police ....gheez, you weren't in a library!!THAT is riduculous! Chasesmoms right it's a library, or church! Who cares! I hope he wasnt offended.sorry I meant NOT a library or church

Knowing me, I would said something to the old lady. I don't care if they are old or young, she sounds ignorant!

At least she's not a relative!!

I can tell you're another canuck--

It isn't about your kids' disability--it's about this lady's intolerance to noise.

Wonder what she does on the transit with all the cell phone heads?

I did tell my friend rather loudly that some people just don't understand mental problems. I really wish I had said something to her. There are  times I have no problem thinking of a comeback. If I see her again, I think I will say something.

I don't think he was upset by her. I told him not to be.

Good. Then dont worry about her. There's lots of crabby people out there. And good for him to not worry about it.
