SharperBrain Software | ADHD Information

Yeah, its a lot of dough. But so is my monthly prescription for meds.

I have another program called brainwave generator.

it works in the same way as the program mentioned above.
i'll send the url to ppl asking me for it.

Looking at the web-site I would not buy this without some sort of demo. Some observations, not necessarily negative:

1.) The web site is based off a template (i.e. right out of a html program.  No keywords. The use of stock photos     2.) There are no outside links praising their product.   3.) All the case studies are on their web-site. All the Medical recommendations, which are also on their website, all link to each other, which suggests a linking agreement.   4.) The price is simply too high, that in itself is suspicious.   5.) All you get is a CD and a booklet.   6.) You can only use a credit card by using PayPal, which suggests they are worried about credit card charge-backs.

At least you get to try them first though. There's no demo. I don't know about you guys, but can't afford 5 on something that may or may not be helpful. I think their market is wealthy parents who will spend anything to 'fix' their underacheiving kids.

Have any of you used this or know anything about it?

The theory behind it seems to make sense.

I am new to this forum and I just noticed your messages about SharperBrain. I have been using it on and off  for 4 months. It’s an awesome program. I have tried many programs to deal with my ADHD symptoms before. Except for Sharper Brain only one worked well. It’s called Neurofeedback. I had about 40 sessions at a clinic, and my concentration did improve but not completely. Then I went with my parents to a talk about ADHD and they demonstrated the SharperBrain program. I find it more effective than Neurofeedback because it doesn’t only teach the brain to produce concentration waves as Neurofeedback does (I may not be using the accurate terms...sorry ) but it also trains you to be able to do all kinds of specific mental exercises, like dividing your attention between tasks, or keeping your attention even though the program tries to distract you. It does it with  visual graphics as well as with sounds. I have found this to be very effective. By the way, my parents spent about 00 for the Neurofeedback sessions so in my opinion 0 or whatever it costs is a real steal. Plus, I don’t have to go to a clinic to do it. I am going next year to university and I was really scared I wouldn’t be able to do well. But this was before the summer.

I haven’t tried brainwave generator, but from looking at their site it doesn’t seem to do the cognitive training the way SharperBrain does. I did try another sound based program before doing Neurofeedback but it didn’t seem to do anything I cant remember what it’s called. The sounds were actually making me nervous.

Shinseto_hito re your #3, I looked at the list of doctors on their site. One of them Dr. Ko is the one recommending the program to my mom. Not only is he legit, but he is very well known in this area.

By the way, there internet site may not be the greatest design, I agree. but they have a nice clinic here in Toronto. I was there for an assessment. I hope this helps.

You can say what you want, and I am telling you that this program is one of the best things that ever happened to me. I don't know how you can criticize what you don't know. In fact, I was at the clinic to pick up the advanced levels module and there were two journalists interviewing people there for a TV show. The clinic is well known around here.

Dave

I unfortunately posted my reply in the wrong forum. I was originally referring to the SharperBrain program.

Sorry!

I am not sure why this keeps happening. I am trying to post this message in another forum, but it keeps coming back to this one.

gee then....why don't you tell us  everything for free!!   I know I wouldAnother one is MyBrainTrainer.com.   It's only .95 for a four month subscription.  Here's a testimonial from their site:

"I work with medical students and physicians who are experiencing academic difficulties. Many of these people have learning disabilities and/or ADHD. They have weaknesses in the areas MyBrainTrainer.com specifically targets. I have already received many positive comments about the program. I hope to continue using this with my future classes, as I feel that these students need to get their brains "in shape" just as an athlete would get their bodies in shape. We will hopefully continue to use your services in the future."
