You should definitely be able to find someplace that has all of those things together. Try calling your local Childrens Hosptial for starters. You bsolutley do NOT have to sit back and just let him be. There are ownderful programs out there. Your school's special Ed Department may also be able to help. My daughters psychiatrist gave us the name of a GREAT place that does social skills groups and summer camps for kids with learning disabilites. Seemed geared to mostly PDD, ADHD.
Youngmom, you may get more answers at the Autism/PDD board.

I would like to find a facility that has a neurologist, psychologist, and psychiatrist all in the same facility if possible.
I have read that there are places that can teach asperger kids how to be in social situations and to help them understand what other people mean when they say and do certain things. and that can teach him everyday life skills that he still doesn't know.
Surely I don't have to just sit back and let him be this way. People don't understand him and why he does things and he doesn't understand people and why they do things. Am I just supposed to sit back and let him just be in his own little world instead of trying to teach him about how things are supposed to be.
Does anyone out there have a child with aspergers
Is there a children's hospital or university with a child development center available to you. These will have the full team, plus parenting classes, social skills classes, etc.

vickie39225.3940277778What are looking for? I mean help for school? To follow him medically??? Does he have an IEP at school? Is this where your concern is or just over all? I would think you want him followed by a neurologist and/or psychiatrost. Soem one needs to manage his meds. An Occupational Therapist would work with you for his sensory integration disorder, a social skills groups and maybe a behaviorist.
I would go through your insurance company and ask for a list of physicians. Also talk to your pirmary care for referrals.
Hello everyone it's been a while since I've been on here about my son Ethan so I doubt anyone remembers me.
But I finally got some in depth testing on him and found out that instead of having ADHD, Bipolar with Depression, IED, OCD, Anxiety, and PANDAS
He now has been diagnosed as just Asperger's in the Autism Spectrum along with Sencory Intigration. Which is what I suspected some time back but could not find anyone to test him.
But now I don't know what to do for him. It's like they gave me the diagnosis and then just sent me on my way. Surely there is something that I can do for him.
I live in Oklahoma about 2hrs from Tulsa if anyone knows of any good resources in this area please let me know. Or just if anyone knows what I am supposed to do from here that would be helpful.
