For those who use guanfacine & stimulant | ADHD Information

Some parents have the option of a small afternoon dose for afternoon/evening coverage.  This is something I have been considering asking the doctor about for Chase.  He is not so much hyperactive (he does have his moments, though.. ), as he is impulsive in his angry reactions....and the guanfacine helps with that until around 5 or 6 in the evening.....Guanfacine works for ADHD about 6-8 hours. It may be that you just need an after school dose added. We have the option of an after school dose when needed.vickie39225.3695486111

When the stimulant wears off at night, do you find that the guanfacine does a good job of controlling hyperactivity and impulsivity?  I'm wondering if I should ask the dr. about increasing the dose to help combat stimulant wearing off.  Our evenings have been very rough, and maybe a larger dose of guanfacine before stimulant wears off would help?  He's currently on .5 mg at night and .5 mg in the morning.
