You can stop these meds cold turkey at any time.
Were thare any good effects on the 10mg? If there are good effects plus rebound, the rebound can be handled. Two weeks is a very short time to increase to 20mg. Is it posible that she needs longer to adjust between dose increases? You might keep a diary of doses, times and effects to help the doc sort out what to do.
Focalin can make some kids more emotional and can have more rebound than regular methylphenidate.
These past 2 weeks have been HELL. DD age 6 is NOT doing well on Focalin. We started at 5mg, then 10mg, 15 mg, and now 20.
Her rebounds are heart breaking. Her dr. is out of town till June 4th. I am considering cold turkeying her. She is a mess.
Has anyone ever tried this? She has been back down to 10mg. the last few days because things have gotten increaingly worse.
stimulants are in and out of your system in the matter of hours they work for. Example Ritalin LA is a 10 hour form it is in and out 10 hours. There should not be a problem stopping them. If you want to feel more confident you can always call the pharmacist.
