I think you know your child better than anyone. I would not go back to that doctor, he or she has a very negative attitude. You have to go with your heart and love for your child. I know meds are a hard decision, but we see our kids 24/7 we know how they act and behave and focus etc. I think if you polled all kids on meds they are going to say the same I know mine did and does. I hope you can find someone to understand your daughter and you. Trust me we are all here to vent and learn. And by the way I have a neice who had her first child at 19 and she is the best mother. You are here and that shows you care. I hope things get better before summer.why are you taking her off the meds? A lot of people do take a med break in the summer, but for some kids it is not always the best choice. There are a lot of long threads on here discussing pros and cons. It can be quite the debate. Every child is different. If you worry about her safety off the meds I am just curious why you are taking her off. We do not take a med break, but we do not use stimulants that can be stoppped and started that easily. Plus my daughter really doesnt do well with no meds, she is juts too"lost". Diane V39230.6486689815has anyone heard of the book a path to success (adhd)bye (lawrence weathers ph.d) if yes did u like it and did it help..im very lost kim my doughter will be off her concerta all summer till september starting when school is out and its scare me to think how we will deal with her
does anyone else take there kids off meds all summer and r u in fear of what will happen during summer kim has no fear n without out meds i cant even explain her behavior im sure alote or all understand:(
[QUOTE=BETHANN]My son wouldn't last an hour without meds. He is ADHD 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. He takes meds 7 days a week. They are to make him successful in life, not just school.
please find another doctor who will prescribe her meds. What about her pediatrician? Even though we see a psychopharmacologist for meds, my son's pediatrician has helped us out in the past. Maybe your daughter's can help you guys out?!
That is so wrong what is happening.
