how did you know when to change meds | ADHD Information

A change is needed now or a higher dose. You might want to ask for him to try the extended release, where it releases through out the day, the only down fall is that the kids eat less and have a hard time going to sleep, When my son was 5 we started him on 18mlg of Concerta and as the years went on we upped it evry six months. Hope this helps.I think if the medicine is no longer working the dosage needs to be adjusted or medicine needs to be changedmy son is 5 and on ritalin, the first month he was like a changed boy. the next month i could see the meds wear off in about 2 hours, and now it seems like the ritalin does'nt work at all,he can't concentrate on homework, chores.he is angry and crying excessivly. i just wondered for those who kids changed meds how did you know that a change was needed?I clicked on your question expecting to post a response, but Vivianmomof5 & Lisadc3 said exactly what I would have said.
