Mom/Daughter ADD - Stepdad not helpful | ADHD Information

You both need to sit down and discuss with your experiences as children were and what your expectations of BEING a parent are now...

Then try to make some consistant decisions on the best way to parent this child...

Both I and my 10 year old daughter have just recently been diagnosed with ADD.  We are slowly adapting to this diagnosis.  We have good days.  We have bad days.  My biggest hurdle is my husband.  He can be very judgmental and has the attitude that I am not parenting properly.  It creates quite a conflict for me when my daughter has melt-downs.  Any suggestions out there?

Family counseling for one. Also if you can get him to read them there are very good books out there. Education is number one.
