Yeah

My son is also on concerta AND his birthday is Wednesday!! Happy Birthday Will!!

My son has done well with concerta, but we moved up dosage wise quickly. When he had a bad day, the doctor had us up the meds and things were just fine again.

My DS is also on Guanfacine!!

Congratulations

Will's birthday is actually Wednesday too!

Happy Birthday to your son as well.  How old is he??

Will will be 8.  He is now taking 36mg of Concerta and 5mg of Focalin in the afternoon.

Great news!

Happy Birthday to Will!

I am so happy he can enjoy his day (and Mom too) .

DS is 10 on Wednesday. He is on 81 mgs of concerta and 1 mg of guanfacine. I am working on increasing his usual 72mg dose of concerta. I know he needs an increase.

We tried the patch but it didn't do anything and after waiting 3 hours, we gave him his concerta. Concerta is best for my son, at least until they perfect the patch!!

Oh I forgot about the patch.  We did that too for about a week.  Will hated wearing it, putting it on and taking it off, and I hated how long it took to work. So far this seems to be the best thing for us too!

I just hope it works for more than a couple of weeks!

I just wanted to update my situation, or Will's situation...

You may remember we took a med break last week and it was horrible.. I was on the verge of a breakdown myself.

Friday, I called his dr and said I wanted to try Concerta, because I had heard good things about it.. We've tried Adderal, metadate, Ritalin and Focalin.

He agreed to give it a shot but warned the pills were larger and we may have a hard time swallowing them.  He was right, but today is the 4th day and he swallowed it with NO problem at all!

But.. Here's the best thing yet.. Man, can I tell a HUGE difference.. I am really excited and hope he continues to do so well.  It seems to last long, his rude, angry attitiude is almost completely gone and his rebounds are nothing like they were before. How wonderful is that?

And tomorrow is his birthday party, which usually means, he's bouncing off the walls!

Anyways, it seems that all I post are negative things about Will, so I thought it would be a nice change to say how great things are..

That is great news. I am so glad it seems to be working out for him! I hope he enjoys his party.
