I think when they started using this med for bipolar, they realized it might be useful for other mood issues (since they seem to stem from similar brain chemisty). Seroquel is supposed to reach steady blood levels in 2 days. You should be able to slpit the dose or just give it all at once to keep the blood level up. Talk to the doc about all of this so you can dose within the guidelines the doc gives you. Here is more info than you probably want:

With the risperdal, once we are at a dose for a few days, we can split the dose or give it all at bedtime, as long as the same amount is given each day. This keeps the blood level stable. While increasing it, we split the dose to reduce side effects until the body adjusts to the med. These are the guidelines my daughter's doc gave us for risperdal.
Thank you so much for your help. We tried 12.5 mg last night and it put him to sleep within 1 hour - I can not say that this is a bad thing considering the day we had. Today I will try it for the first time during the day to see of it helps with the Metadate rebound. I will keep you posted!
