Are There Any Psychiartrists In The House | ADHD Information
Hello,
my name is Ryan i am searching for an opinion on my situation from a psychiartrist, i live in the United Kingdom.
Thankyou,
Ryan.
Welcom ryanuk,
You will find help and support here from lay people, but nothing is meant to be medical opinion. A forum, or anywhere on the internet is not a good place to seek professional opinions. Anyone can claim to be anything.
If you give a little more info, maybe we can direct you to reliable information.
vickie39264.5243634259I'd start with a current SOLID diagnosis from a neuropsychologist and go from there.I agree with Diane V you should get a diagnosis. If it turns out you have
ADHD then you have a lot less to worry about. I was diagnosed at the same
age you started taking medicine, I was a well behaved kid but, just had
trouble with attention span. Although the doctors did not diagnose you they
may have talked to your parents about your behavoir and attention span and
made conclusions fom that. Also, medicine does not work for everyone
with ADHD.If it turns out that you do not have ADHD, I would then advise
you to let go of the past and move on, what's done is done. There are also
test that can tell brain damage caused by drugs. You might not have any
damage at all. In addition, depression is more likely to acure in people with
ADHD and in teens. The depression may not have been caused by the
medicine. I'm sorry all this happened to you.musicfanatic39265.6944097222
im not a real phsych but i think i need one like on tv.
all kidding aside Diane V is right on.
this is a great place for support but you need a real fae to face with a qualified pro .
i know that i post too much but i do try to reasonable and open about my issues . and it really helps me in areas i was unaware of and from feeling isolated
so i say welcome
Also, if you want to check and see if there is a possibility of you having
ADHD there are online screening tests. They are not an official test but
can
be helpful to know if it might be a possiblility.
This is a link to the symptoms of ADHD
http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/adhd/symptom.htm
And this is a link to a good screening test for ADHD. When I took this I
had to put in a different year of birth because I'm not 18, so if you're not
an adult yet you might have to lie about your age.
