meds for anxiety | ADHD Information

I am on Ritalin and Klonopin..... what a combo, right! I only take Klonopin when I feel a panic attack coming on....and usually one .5 pill will suffice. Of course if a panic attack starts to occur when im on Ritalin, the Klonopin does affect the effectiveness of the Ritalin... but hey, it's better than a full-blown panic attack.  I take proponanol before performance or social anxiety situations and occasionally take oxazepam for generalized anxiety days or feeling panic attacks coming on.Took Paxil years ago and currently taking Prozac (more for OCD than generalized anxiety).  I took Klonopin (a sedative - benzodiazepine) before which helped a lot when I had a lot of panic attacks, but be aware that benzodiazepines have addictive potential and can be a bear to get off of....my daughter also took Zoloft for a bit. She is currently taking Desipramine, to address, ADHD symptoms as well as anxiety. It is working.......ok.......she has anxiety, but doeds not suffer panic attacks, more GAD. WE may not be quite at optimum dose, but she seems fine for how she needs to be for the summer.I once took zoloft for anxiety with good results. My youngest is on risperdal with her ADHD meds to control anxiety.

yes 18 years ago they gave me 2 mgs of klonopin per day for anxiety as at the time they did not know  much about ADHD. I<m down to 0.125 mgs and  started to get off in 2000. A trip to hell and back...

I'm now on effexor.

anyone taking meds or anxiety and what type?my son takes zoloft - 50mg daily. Tried many other things and this seems to be the best.I am on Paxil for anxiety and have been for many years.  It works wonders for me.  I'm not a kid but hey, thought I would throw my 2 cents in!  :-)

 

I take Ativan (lorazapam) for anxiety on an as needed basis--has worked well for the past year.
