Glue Ear | ADHD Information

The ENT has discovered my son has it and is going to treat him for it with pills, if that doesn't work he will put a grommet in. Has anyone else's kid had this and has treatment helped alleviate ADHD symptoms?  My son's symptoms have improved dramatically with diet and a more understanding teacher but he shouts and has to have things repeated a few times.  I hope this helps him.

The condition can  cause behavior issues, and treatment is needed to protect the hearing, but if he truly has ADHD it is not going to totally eliviate his symptoms. My DD was treated for something similar and it helped her hearing, but that's it.Thanks for the answers guys. He had it done once already when he was two, at this point I would just be happy if he would talk a tad quieter ... !  And I'm guessing that making sure he can HEAR everything in class can only help.  I'm going to have his eyes tested for the same reason. I guess we need to give them all the help we can.Lots of kids have ear trouble.  My son had 2 sets of tubes and still has problems flying etc.  It may be a big part of your child's seeming inattentiveness.  I can't see it helping with hyperness.  My son never slept through the night until his first tubes at age 1.  The surgery is really no big deal.  I just hate hospitals.
